buut flash back to two weeks ago when i was in mexico. here is a series of pictures i worked very hard to gather. its called: Anna eats, Mexico.

this is a dragon fruit. this one was a little sour, thus the expression. but it looks like a dalmatian wrapped in a pink feather boa. color wise, very 80s. taste wise, delicious when not overripe.
aaand fruit cup! fruit cup fruit cup! $1.20 in the town square for a cup and a half full of fresh chopped mango, pineapple, orange, watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, and jicama. i love mexico i love mexico.

one of my braver conquests, this was a taco on a blue corn tortilla with cheese, flowers (from squash plants) and HUITLACOCHE, the black slimy fungus that grows on corn. its incredible it tastes like rich sweet mushrooms. they call it mexican truffles mmm. justin didnt try any.
tacos arabes! yummy yummy roasted meat on a pita with a sauce made of honey, chilies, and i dont really know what else. its sort of barbecue y. they were delicious with apple soda.
naisy corn its corn with mayonnaise! corn smeared with mayo, rolled in crumbly cheese, squeezed with lime juice and dusted with dry chilies. ooo i wish i was eating it right now.
oaxaca: chocolate capital of the world. this was my meal: bread baked with chocolate sauce on top, hot oaxaca chocolate (thats with cinnamon, almonds, vanilla, and milk added to it), and chicken and rice covered in chocolatey mole. frick, dude.

Last of all, eating fresh chocolate churnings (a cheapo biproduct of the chocolate making process, i think its mostly cocoa butter and sugar) at monte alban. food of the gods.
i put on five pounds in mexico. that makes fifteen since marriage. dangit this is what happens when someone is guaranteed to love you (at least til his midlife crisis hits).

Looks awesome! My sister in law is living in Mexico right now. I'll have to ask her about the food!

Your blog made me want to go back to Mexico just to eat the food... I'm going to see what's in the refrigerator now.
So Anna writes, "I love Mexico. I love Mexico." From these latest pictures, I would propose that "Anna loves food! Anna loves food!"
