adventures i have had in mexico

ok so this blog is called the ¨mis¨adventures of yours truly for a reason. so here are some:

this week i et a snail. yup. pulled his soft, swirly body out of his swirly shell with a toothpick, stuck him in my mouth, chewed him, and swallowed him. he was dead, cooked, and covered in chilly sauce, but that didnt stop him from tasting like chewy dirt. siiiiick. but it was worth it because this was in the home of one of justnis students who invited us over for dinner and fed us a lot of delicious food and gave me some free pomegranates.

ok what else. it felt like a misbegotten couple of weeks. oh yeah here we go. yesterday i came home after work, while justin wanted to go wander, and i realized he still had the keys. after a fruitless search for him in town, i remembered that the back window of our sheer duplex house was open. so yes, i scaled the wrought iron bars that protect our door and window from thieves, scurried up the terra cotta tiles, until i was standing on the roof next to the tanaco that gathers rainwater so we can use it in our pipes. i was about to do the riskiest thing of all, swing over the edge and pray i landed in the house, when justin came home. phew. still i think it would have been cool if id done it. i was pleased with how easily i climbed it. sometimes i think im getting old, you know, 23. its not 21 anymore.

anyway, good week! cute kids in my classes! ate a snail SICK! there is one more adventure, but its of a scatological (bathroom) nature, so...ill just relate it to all yáll in person because hey, im shy.
