time to take a break from depressing PhD results. last night in an effort toward self-cheer, i had Anna's Annual Cupcake Extravaganza!!!!!!
Four kinds of cupcakes, three of each (1/4 of each recipe). The cupcakes were: Rocky Road, Frou Frou Strawberry, Lemon Curd Meringues, and Toffee Tumbles.
The atmosphere began festively enough with me baking and justin watching baseball, but took a turn toward the bizarre as it got later. justin went to bed and my mom shared a radio program with me featuring interviews with woman time-travelers (thanks coast to coast AM). later even that ended and it was just me, feverishly stirring up vanilla custard while my cat-in-heat yowled into the night.
i wasn't finished until one or so. but it was worth it.

Oh man those cuppy cakes do look delightful.
I hope the baking and deliciousness made you feel better. Baking usually makes me feel good, unless I eat too much batter.
Also COast to Coast ROX! I haven't been up late enough to listen to it in a while!

Oh and I just saw an ad in Seattle Weekly for cupcakes that have jameson's scotch in the frosting. Oh St. Patricks Day.
i like the apron. someone totally awesome must have given that to you (me). and you are welcome to bring me treats, I get off work at 1am, so it would have worked out perfectly!
