this past weekend was liquid weekend, so i made mangoes and sticky rice and tapioca pudding. i was going to make vanilla custard to go with, but i just made a second batch of tapioca instead.
MMMM I WISH I WAS EATING TAPIOCA RIGHT NOW! all warm and filling.
anyways, these aren't my real pictures. right, like i would think to put a picturesque stick next to something!i forgot to take a picture because they were both down the hatch straight out of the steel pot too quickly. but my stuff DID look a little something like these.
not pictured: terrible gooey sourdough i worked FOREVER on and totally underbaked/ruined. maybe it caught onto the whole liquid weekend thing and decided to jump on board. disappointing.
i want to bake and sell stuff!
im still waiting to hear from my last/favorite PhD program. all this waiting has given me time to regrow some hope. NOOO!! i can't get hurt again!
also: my gerber daisy, plump with five ready-to-bloom blossoms, has become infested with spider mites! what to do?
edit: pretty sure that picturesque stick is a vanilla bean

Oooh, Tapioca. I haven't had that in sooo long. The one time I made it, my kids thought it looked like fish eggs.
oooo yummy!
I love food.
your post reminds of my friend's. look closely at the picture!

i'm so mad. the last time i went to a thai restaurant i didn't have room in my stomach for mango and sticky rice. it was horrible.
libby, that sounds like a nightmare.
